In my opinion, the beans were nearly or fully medium roasted, not light roasted in color nor in aroma. A stronger than lighter roasting obscures the delicate flavors of Yirgacheffe coffees, defeating the purpose of drinking them.
Hi James, I'm sorry we missed the mark for you on this roast, but this is our style. The Wush Wush is one of my all-time favorites on the catalog, and it's 4.9 rated on amazon too! But of course we can't please everyone, especially those who are looking for extremely light roasts because that just simply isn't our style. Lighter roasts than our Wush Wush is just too high acidity, and lacks balance and body in a single origin for a majority of coffee drinkers out there in my experience.
If you want lighter roasts than this, there are plenty of other options out there. Good luck!
Coffee was great! Also arrived sooner than expected! Thank you guys for the great coffee all the time!
I can’t think about drinking another kind it’s all e use in my house
LOVE this coffee!!!! My all time favorite!!! Thank you Foxen!!!
Not terrible but the aroma was completely gone. My bag was not fresh and! I'm pretty disappointed with the experience. I'd prefer a freshly roasted coffee... Not one that's been on a shelf for over 2-3 months... Especially at this price point. :(
Hi Aaron, we typically let the coffee de-gas for 1-2 weeks before it's shipped to a customer, and it's very abnormal for it to sit on a shelf for longer than that. Can you send us a picture of the roast date and batch number on the bottom of the bag so that we can investigate?
Peak flavor for most of our coffees tested between 3-16 weeks, and our packaging equipment also injects food grade nitrogen when it's sealed to keep the coffee as fresh as possible.
If you can reach out to us directly we can try to help resolve some concerns.
